Historically, batik of truntum motif was created by Queen from Surakarta Hadiningrat (Permaisuri Sunan Paku Buwana III dari Surakarta Hadiningrat), meaning love that grows back. She created this motif as a symbol of true love unconditional, immortal and the longer feels more fertile growing.
That said, if the motive truntum a symbol of love that blossomed again. According to the story, the Queen who has been loved and pampered by the King, feel forgotten by the King who has had a new lover. To pass the time and eliminate sorrow, Queen began to make batik. Queen unconsciously make star-shaped motif in dark sky. Queen diligence in making batik attract the attention of the king who then began to approach the Queen. little by little the King against Queen's affection grows back.
