Through events held Sidji Batik Award 2013, which was held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel Yogyakarta, Wednesday (2 October 2013) night. Education Deputy Minister of Culture, Prof.Ir. Wiendu Nuryanti M.Arch, PhD gave awards to the batik makers who have devoted their lives to batik.
Wiendu expressed pride at the fighters batik, creator creativity a growing and flourishing in the archipelago. Coinciding with National Batik Day 14 eyes included in the national cultural societies often do not care about the determination and recognition of batik. "The benefits of this batik determination, has managed to increase turnover by up to 400 percent batik sales or reach more than Rp 1 trillion. Worlds batik has also created employment to 2.5 million people," he said.
